Book wholesaler launches CD range
A British book wholesaler has branched out into the CD market following the success of its DVD range.
Gardners will begin stocking a variety of 70,000 music CDs, with the company hoping the size of the range will double over the next year, TheBookseller.com reports.
Two years ago, the wholesaler launched its collection of 45,000 DVD titles, which has gone on to prove a commercial success.
Bob Jackson, Gardners' commercial director, told the website that many of its DVD customers had been enquiring about the possibility of the company stocking CDs.
"Like everything else in our catalogue or stock holding, we will grow the range from what our customers ask us for," he explained.
In addition to its DVD and Blu-ray range, Gardners stocks more than two million books.
Its customers have either the option of opening an entertainment retail account or a booksellers account.
