Welsh men face court for selling fake goods in eBay
A man from Wales who made over £100,000 selling fake goods on eBay has appeared in court.
The local North Wales Daily Post reported that Gareth Lloyd Williams was in Llandudno magistrates on Tuesday (June 17th) to face charges of selling and distributing counterfeit goods on the online auction site.
He pleaded guilty to ten counts of selling counterfeit Lacoste goods and two cases fraud.
During the case, prosecutor Stuart Dunn reportedly said that Lacoste lost an estimated £164,000 due to the crime.
Mr Williams claimed that he only sold the fake goods to "ease the Christmas pinch".
The case was transferred to Caernarfon Crown Court for pre-sentence reports and Mr Williams was released on bail until July 17th.
Separately, Mr Williams' brother, Deion Llwyd Williams, was fined nearly £3,000 for selling fake Abercrombie and Fitch jackets on eBay. It was shown that he sold 34 counterfeit coats on the site.
