Technology easing wholesale operations

The continued development of new technology is helping wholesalers and other small businesses run more efficiently, experts have claimed.

According to the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies (NFEA), improvements to email and phone systems are helping companies better their communications.

George Derbyshire, chief executive of the NFEA, claimed that the advent of improved technology has helped entrepreneurs work in any location.

"The NFEA network of enterprise agencies is now seeing a larger number of new business start ups operating their businesses without the use of a traditional office. Of course, many of today's business operations can be run with a mobile or by email," he said.

Mr Derbyshire also revealed that improved communications helped cut costs and allowed business to focus on more important matters.

"Of course there's a significant cost saving too. New business owners can focus on getting their business off the ground first and foremost without the risk or financial pressure of workspace overheads," he added.

Recently, StartupCo urged wholesalers and other independent firms to use the internet to sell goods in order to save both time and money.
