Small retailers benefit from Facebook

Small businesses can benefit from using online social network site Facebook, it has been found.

A number of small retailers have been using the website to inform consumers of their most recent products and offers, according to LoHud.com.

Shops' latest launches pop up on the website's news feed section, allowing customers to click in to the stores' profile and check out the 'e-shelves'.

"As a small business in this economy, I am constantly looking for ways to reach a lot of people that [doesn't] cost a lot of money," shop owner Denise Treco told LoHud.com.

A customer of Ms Treco's store added: "Having that online presence really is great promotion for the store because the updates make it a daily presence even though it's not on my regular route," according to the website.

With businesses constantly looking for fresh ways to reach their target demographic, Facebook is certainly a platform worth considering.
