Retailers hope to increase internet exposure
A number of retailers are hoping to boost sales by increasing their exposure on the internet, new research has revealed.
According to E-consultancy research, many retailers are increasing their on-line advertising budgets.
Some 62 per cent of retailers are spending more on internet advertising now than they were two years ago, with 27 per cent set to increase their budget by up to a quarter.
In addition, most retailers revealed that they were content with the expense of increasing web exposure, with 95 per cent revealing that they found it 'very' cost effective.
The survey will come as welcome to news to wholesalers, who could benefit from the increased exposure of their clients by seeing their amount of orders increase.
Meanwhile, according to the Office for National Statistics, retail sales increased by 0.6 per cent between November 2007 and January 2008.
