The Festival can trace its roots back at least 15 years, and has now grown into the largest FREE festival of its type in
Oxfordshire and many miles further. Last year saw
crowds of around FIVE THOUSAND people come to watch two days of great music set on an 'island' in the River Evenlode on the edge of Charlbury in Oxfordshire. Bands with huge followings have played for us -
all for free - as is the Festivals whole ethos. Previous line-ups have seen bands such as as Dustball, The Samurai Seven, Six Ray Sun & Ciccone - all have had Radio 1 air play with the like of Steve
Lamaq and John Peel. Ciccone have even made it onto MTV !! The Rock of Travolta played at the immense Radiohead 'South Park' gig in 2001, Lisa Fitzgibbon and her band have played at Glastonbury, while Modou
Diouf played at WOMAD. The dates for this years
Festival have been confirmed for 19/20 June 2004. Saturday will start at 2.00pm going through until about 9pm, and Sunday will be 1pm through until 8pm.We are keen to spread the word, and attract even more
people. We are taking bookings now for traders who are interested in supporting us. A weekend pitch will cost just £25/trader. This will allow Friday night or Saturday morning access to the site to set up.
Pitches must be cleared by Sunday evening. To book a pitch or for more information please contact admin@riversidefestival.charlbury.com, or telephone Gary Walker on 01608 644602 / 07788 650542 |
