Online system revealed to help local retailers
A new system has been unveiled that is designed to improve the online presence of the UK's independent retailers.
The Shropshire Star reported that the All The Little Shops programme has been created to help independent retailers increase their online sales and boost footfall on the high street.
After town centre management groups implement the system, it allows customers to make multiple purchases from any number of local retailers during a single 'cyber shopping trip'. What's more, independents can use the system as an online catalogue to increase their shop's exposure.
Kevan Baker, sales director for All the Little Shops, explained to the paper: "I think the fact that we were there supporting small independent retailers touched a nerve.
"The flexibility of All the Little Towns means it works brilliantly for large and small towns alike and that’s the beauty of it."
"We ran the pilot scheme in Shrewsbury and got it listed on more than 1,000 Google pages within just a few weeks."
Recently, the Times reported that small retailers could benefit from increasing their online presence.
Michael Petevinos of Cap Gemini explained that "smaller retailers with niche products or with interesting retail propositions" were set to reap the benefits of online sales.
