Norwich wholesale business hit by criminal gang
A wholesale business from the east of the UK has had thousands of pounds of stock stolen by a criminal gang.
The Eastern Daily Press reported that the wholesaler had over £10,000 worth of tyres stolen from its facilities in Hellesdon, near Norwich.
Local police have already appealed for witnesses and said that they have linked the theft with an earlier crime.
They explained that they believe the gang stole a green Volvo lorry from a nearby furniture maker called Arthur Brett and Sons.
The lorry was subsequently found abandoned on the A47 bypass. Evidence suggests that it was used to target the wholesale business sometime between 19:00 on Monday (August 25th) and the following morning.
Around 400 Hero and Federal tyres were taken from the wholesaler. As a result, police asked any business that has been offered cheap tyres in recent days to come forward with the information.
Recently, businesses in the east of England were warned by police that criminals were using counterfeit money to make purchases.
