Niche service 'helped new business compete with national wholesalers'
The boss of a small business has revealed how cornering a niche market has meant his company has been able to compete with larger wholesalers.
In an interview with the Daily Mail's This is Money website, David Elghanayan, the boss of Vanquish Wine, explained that he and his business partner had spent time establishing the unique nature of their operation.
He said that he had joined Jimmy Metta in a venture to sell some wine that belonged to a family member and realised there was the potential to start a successful business.
The pair have since cultivated relationships with some of the most exclusive night clubs in London.
Mr Elghanayan explained: "We have the biggest stock holding of Crystal Champagne in the UK, which is something that the clubs need. Some clubs get through a case an hour and through us they can get a larger order than they can direct from wholesale.
"We now have created a proper wine and champagne list and warehouse structure, we've also branched out into vodka and other spirits, such as premium tequila. We only stock high-end premium luxury brands."
