Lingerie business to focus on wholesale operations
A struggling lingerie company is hoping to rally a comeback by dropping its failing retail enterprise and focusing on its core wholesaling activities, it has been reported.
According to thisisnottingham.co.uk, Long Eaton-based clothing company Intimas has agreed a new loan deal with Lloyds TSB which will allow it to steady itself in the current economic climate.
Specialising in lingerie, nightwear and swimwear, the firm has recently suffered heavy trading losses. But it is believed that the appointment of a new head in John Gibson will help the ailing company to right itself.
The website reports him as saying that Intimas is trying to "get back to basics" with a new strategic plan to work towards.
"We're a wholesaler with a private label division and a branded division and we need to grow revenue in those two divisions over the course of the next three years," Mr Gibson added.
As well as designing its own product ranges, Intimas also produces lingerie and swimwear for Lepel, DM, Charnos Lingerie and Ted Baker Intimates.
