Apprentice reject becomes successful fashions wholesaler

She may have been fired by Sir Alan Sugar in season two of the Apprentice, but Karen Bremner has used the experience to become a successful retailer.

After being booted off of the reality show, Ms Bremner, from Scotland, opened up a small boutique in her hometown of Broughty Ferry, near Dundee, the Daily Record reports.

As well as enjoying success as a retailer since opening her store karenB 18 months ago, she has also launched a wholesale designer clothes operation, in an attempt to expand her new business.

Ms Bremner told the newspaper: "It is a tough industry, but profits are up, which is remarkable in this climate.

"There is no way I would have opened my own business had I not gone on The Apprentice. It was a fantastic experience and it opened my eyes to opportunities."

This week, it was revealed that Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is to launch a new range of clothing and footwear that will be sold online and wholesale via third party outlets.

Named Pretty Green after a song by The Jam, the range - including denim, knitwear, jackets, parkas, t-shirts and accessories - will be "owned and designed" by the rock star.
